Cottage Facilities & Amenities

The cottages are equipped to provide a home from home environment:
 

colour televisions and video recorders.
fitted kitchens with microwave oven.
over bath showers.
bed linen (except for cots).
cots and high chairs can be arranged for no charge when booking.
towel hire is available (£2 per hand and bath towel set) to be arranged when booking.
well-behaved dogs are welcome subject to prior arrangement and abidance to rules.
laundry room with coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside drying facilities.
electricity and heating is included (except laundry room facilities).
garden furniture and BBQs.
extensive selection of tourist information.

Within the eleven acres of grounds the guests are welcome to use our facilities including:
 

heated swimming pool (open from mid May to September).
playground with swings, slide and climbing frames.
playing fields for ball games, football goal, kite flying, dog walking and bike riding (bikes for smaller children are available).
barn for indoor play with train track,  farmyard & animals etc.
table tennis barn.
ample dry storage for bikes, surfboards, top boxes, wet suits etc.
rabbits and free-ranging hens (eggs are sometimes available).
baby-sitting can be arranged.
extensive rural and sea views.
vast variety of bird wildlife.

Local information

in Whitstone village there is a shop and post office.
the nearest town of Bude provides a number of attractions including the following:
sandy beaches, one with sea fed swimming pool.
beautiful walks along the south west coastal path and canal.
indoor swimming pool, leisure centre, tennis courts, bowling green, ten pin bowling.
night clubs, public houses, hotels and restaurants.
golf courses, horse riding establishments, fishing from the canal and sea.

The area provides an extensive variety of facilities and activities for all ages and interests e.g.

beaches and coves along scenic coastline for swimming, surfing, body boarding, kite surfing, rock pools and building sandcastles!
the Tamar and Roadford lakes are ideal for sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing walking and wildlife: tuition and equipment hire is available.
the Camel and Tarka trails provide safe and easy cycling or walking routes along former railway lines to the side of the Tor and Camel estuaries, (Bideford and Padstow) and beyond ( cycle hire including dog and children buggies and tandems available).
there are beautiful gardens to visit including RHS Rosemoor, Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan,
national Trust properties including Lanhydrock, Cotehele and Lydford Gorge.
the nearby historic towns and villages of Tintagel, Boscastle, Padstow, Rock & Clovelly are places interest with markets and crafts.
fun and animal parks nearby include amongst others include The Big Sheep, Killarney Springs and the Tamar Otter Park .
the wild open space of Dartmoor and Exmoor with their wildlife and ponies provide interest for all ages.
